Koko Sims is a passionate math educator with over two decades of experience as a teacher, Principal, Instructional Coach, and math education consultant. Her career has been dedicated to transforming how students learn math by focusing on the "why" behind concepts rather than memorizing formulas. She believes traditional “sit-and-get” methods are a thing of the past, and her approach champions conceptual learning that builds confidence and real-world problem-solving

skills.

Through her tutoring company, Pencil and Pi, Koko helps students overcome math anxiety and achieve success by making learning engaging, accessible, and tailored to their individual needs. She also empowers educators through professional development, sharing innovative strategies to create vibrant, student-centered classrooms.

Koko’s mission is to make high-quality math education accessible to all, helping students not just understand math, but love it. When she’s not teaching or mentoring, she’s exploring new ways to innovate math instruction and inspire the next generation of problem-solvers.
